The ZansShield EO-Sterilized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Kit is a single-use, comprehensive solution designed for first responders and crime scene investigators. The kit provides head-to-toe protection to ensure that evidence collectors do not contaminate crime scenes or exhibits with their own DNA, while also safeguarding them from potential hazards. Each kit is individually packaged in a sealed pouch and sterilized using Ethylene Oxide (EO), with a chemical indicator that confirms sterility.
Each individually sealed PPE kit contains the following components:
- 1 x Protective Two-Piece Suit: This white or light blue suit is made from breathable 48 gsm to 50 gsm SMS fabric that allows for easy airflow. The suit is designed to comply with ASTM F1670 and F1671 standards for resistance to penetration by blood, body fluids, and blood-borne pathogens. The top features a zip closure with a knitted collar and cuffs, while the trousers have an elastic waist and ankles for a secure fit.
- 1 x Pair of Shoe Covers: These waterproof shoe covers feature a non-skid PVC sole to prevent slipping and are made from Spun Bond Polypropylene or microporous material.
- 5 x Pairs of Nitrile Gloves: The kit includes five pairs of powder-free, light blue nitrile examination gloves, packaged separately in a poly bag.
- 1 x Disposable Face Mask: A 3-ply, white disposable face mask with elastic ear loops and a plastic nose bar is included for respiratory protection.
- 1 x Disposable Bouffant Cap: A light blue, 10g bouffant cap made of 100% polypropylene spun bond non-woven fabric ensures that hair does not contaminate evidence.
- 1 x Biohazard Bag: A red biohazard bag (61x48 cm) with a printed biohazard symbol and twist ties is provided for the proper disposal of used equipment. The bag is designed to comply with ASTM D1709-03a and D1922-03a standards.
